Initial Research

I want to set up a website for all those who work in the hospitality industry. It will be a social website, so you will set up a profile for yourself. This is a way to communicate yourself to others.

This will be a bit like Facebook and Myspace, however it will be a proffessional version. One only for those who work in the hospitality sector. You will have a profile showing where you live, who you currently work for and what you do and what your previous experience is. An optional section on your ambitions and what you would ideally like to be doing and where. Through this you can contact other people who do a similar job to you. There will be a forum on here where you can discuss ideas and problems with others. You will also be able to post special offers on a page exclusively for members. The website will be a database for thousands of people in the industry, from low entry employees to managers and owners. Suppliers may also wish to sign up for this website, as they can pay to put advertising in site, also offering special deals. Once the website is fully up and running, there should be an array of different forums; help forums, special offers, suppliers forum, etc.

The other great bonus about this website is that when managers are looking to employ new staff, they can search on this website, read up about their experience and contact their references. So they can easily head hunt for new staff. At the same time as this, they can post an advert in the jobs and availability section, and people can apply that way, with a cover message and a list of their references.

Also, if you are wanting to put on an event one day, you could use this website for all your needs. Once you have chosen your area, you will be presented wit options. The first being an event co-ordinator company. Beyond that whether you want to use that or not, you will find an extensive list accompanied with unbiased reviews for everything you could require for an event, from hiring all different types of equipment to caterers, bar staff, waiters and waitresses, entertainment, djs etc.
